Our Coaches
Al Reilly joined SVGC in 1979, and became our Head Coach in 1989. A former competitive gymnast, Al has more than 30 years of coaching experience working with preschool to college level athletes and is a member of the United States Elite Coaches Association for Women's Gymnastics. Al holds a B.S. in Physical Education, a B.A. in Psychology, and state of California teaching credentials for pre-K through grade 12 as well as for California Community Colleges. Al lives and surfs in Santa Cruz when he is not in the gym. Al's friendly and easy going nature combined with his coaching philosophies and extensive experience make for an enjoyable training environment inspiring our athletes to do their best and succeed in competition.
